473 Enterprises of Belarus Brought 140 Million Dollars of Losses, Belstat

In Belarus, 473 industrial enterprises got net loss for January 2010. This represents 23.9% of the total number. The amount of net losses totaled 408.1 billion rubles (almost $ 140 million), or 2,1 times more than in January 2009. 

The National Statistics Committee informed that the greatest amount of net loss was in the fuel industry (279.8 billion rubles), steel (36 billion), machinery and metal processing (25.2 billion rubles).

Profitability of sold products, works and services to industrial enterprises, over the January 2010 figured  3,8% (in January 2009 — 8,2%), return on sales — 3% (against 6,3%).

Above-average level of profitability of sold products, works and services showed companies of medical industry (37,5%), chemicals (18.1%), leather, fur and footwear industry (16,6%), mining and quarrying machinery and hoisting transport engineering (by 16,4%), food industry (15,2%), Industry (14.2%), the printing industry (13.9%), automotive (12.5%), tractor and agricultural machinery ( 11.7). Below average — in the textile industry (3%), glass and porcelain industry (2%), construction materials industry (1.6%), AFN.

Unprofitability recorded in the logging industry (minus 1,5%), the bearing industry (minus 2,1%), ferrous metallurgy and petrochemical industry (at minus 2,2%), pulp and paper industry (minus 3,2%), microbiological (minus 16%), petroleum refining industry (minus 22,3%).
