First Vice-Premier of Belarus Vladimir Semashko said on December 9 that Minsk, Moscow and Astana would make an indefinite-term agreement on the abolition of duties on crude oil and petroleum products within the Customs Union. Previously, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko declared the abolition of Russian oil duties since 2011.

«We’ve lifted the customs duties on crude oil and petroleum products, supplied from Russia, as well as abolished import duties on raw materials for our oil refining companies from Russia, which is very important. We have enabled our businesses in Kazakhstan, Russia and, particularly, Belarus the freedom to compete,» Alexander Lukashenko said.

According to Telegraf, a few hours earlier, Minister of Economic Development Elvira Nabiullina offered ratification of all the SES documents by Minsk in exchange for abolition of crude oil duties for Belarus since January 1. Under these conditions, Belarus will pay 100% of Russian export duties on oil products.

«We’re canceling the mutual trade duties on oil. We will supply duty free oil to Belarus, but take oil products’ duties at the external borders to be transferred to the Russian budget,» Nabiullina explained.
