Russian Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov announced after a meeting of the joint Board of Defense Ministries of Belarus and Russia that Russia plans to increase the supply of anti-aircraft missile of S-300 systems in Belarus. The Russian minister noted that the parties intend to strengthen the north-west air line, which is a zone of responsibility of a single regional Russian-Belarusian air defense system.

Belarus and Russia signed the contract to supply S-300 in Minsk in mid-September 2005, however, it wasn’t specified how many systems Russia had to deliver in Belarus, reports RIA «Novosti» news agency.

The head of the Russian Defense Ministry also pointed out the formation of a common information space and military-technical cooperation among other priority areas of joint work.
