The Government of Russia approved its decree №15 on new rates of export customs duties on crude oil and certain types of crude oil products to be exported outside the territory of the Russian Federation and member-states of the Customs Union on January 21. This was reported in the Russian government.

This Decree is to enter into force on February 1, 2011. According to it, the export duty on Russian crude oil will grow from $317.5 to $346.6 per tonne (by 9.1%), on light oil products — from $226.2 to $232.2 (2.6%), dark oil — from $121.9 to $161.8 (32.7%).

As Telegraf previously reported, Minister of Economic Development Elvira Nabiullina said on December 9, 2010 that Russia would abolish crude oil duty in the mutual trade with Belarus. «We will supply duty free oil to Belarus, but oil duties will be taken at the external borders and remitted to the Russian budget,» the Minister explained.

Meanwhile, the Russian company Transneft redirected oil deliveries embarked for Belarus to alternative buyers through seaports on January 21. This decision was made after the pricing dispute failure between the Prime Ministers of Belarus and Russia.
