Russia Remains Main Trade Partner of Belarus, Ministry of Economy

Belarusian Ministry of Economy informed that in January-July 2010 Belarus traded with 179 countries around the world. The country exported to 145 countries and imported the products manufactured in 156 countries. The main trade partner of Belarus is still Russia.

So, 47.8% of the total trade of Belarus is on the Russian Federation in January-July this year. The other most important trade partners of Belarus are Ukraine (7.3%), the Netherlands (5.1%), Germany (4.7%), China (3.5%), Poland (3.3%), Latvia, the United Kingdom and Brazil (1.7% each), Italy (1.6%). 
39.4% of the total export of Belarus is on Russia, 14.5% on other CIS countries, 29.1% on the EU countries, 17% on other countries. Imports from Russia amounted to 54.1% of total import, from other CIS countries — 6.7%, EU countries — 21.2%, other countries — 18%.
