The Ukrainian government should take measures to protect the country's market, including from the dumping of raw materials supplies from Belarus refineries. This was stated by Executive Director of one of the largest Russian oil company TNK-BP German Khan. According to him, the Ukrainian authorities should take such measures to encourage investment in the country's oil refining sector.

«We have positive trends in the Ukrainian leadership’s understanding of the need to support Ukrainian oil refining, which is currently in the process of stagnation and slow death,» said German Khan.

TNK-BP Executive Director said that only two refineries — Lisichanski and Kremenchug — are actually working in Ukraine today. Meanwhile, both plants, according to the representative of the oil company, are not completely loaded due to Belarus’s dumping of raw materials supplies, RIA «Novosti» news agency.

German Khan informed about the meetings with Prime Minister Mykola Azarov and Vice Prime Minister Andriy Klyuev. Executive Director of TNK-BP announced that the company had plans to invest in its oil refinery in Ukraine, but its realization was impossible under the current circumstances. German Khan noted that TNK-BP might decide to stop Lisichansk refinery even after March 15, if the Ukrainian government took no adequate measures to protect the domestic oil refining market.

«If measures are not taken, we will have no other choice, we cannot generate a loss,» said German Khan.

As Telegraf previously reported, the Belarusian refineries have been recently blamed for price dumping in the Ukraine, while the Belarusian oil products’ deliveries on the Ukrainian market have been covered in a one-sided manner by the media. Board of Mazyr refinery denied information that unfair conditions for competition had been created on the Ukrainian oil and fuel market. «Talk about price dumping of petroleum products, produced by OJSC «Mazyr Refinery,» in the Ukrainian market is baseless,» said in the Belarusian company.
