Ukraine to Transport 9 Million Tons of Venezuelan Oil to Belarus

In 2011, the Ukraine plans to transport nine million tons of Venezuelan oil to Belarus. This was reported by the Minister of Transport and Communications Kostiantyn Yefymenko. A corresponding draft agreement between the governments of Belarus and the Ukraine was adopted at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Ukraine on September 29.

In addition, the Minister of Transport and Communication said that 1.5 million tons is planned to be transported in Belarus in 2010. «At the moment we keep to the rhythmic work, and take five tankers of 80 thousand tons capacity per month,» Kostiantyn Yefymenko said.

Currently, the tariff for Venezuelan oil transit from Odessa to Belarusian oil refineries is $0.27 per ten tons per 100 kilometers, RBC-Ukraine.

However, the Ukrainian minister did not comment on the Venezuelan crude oil transit to Belarus in 2011 with the Odessa-Brody pipeline in project (reverse) mode.

As Telegraf reported, with regard to possible launch of Odessa-Brody pipeline to operate in project regime (reverse), the head of Transport Ministry of Ukraine had previously stated that it could be done only under the condition that Belarus to implement an annual transit of Venezuelan oil in the volume of more than nine million tons a year.
