President of Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovych, during his one-day official working visit to Belarus said that Ukraine will be glad to become a partner of the project of Venezuelan oil transportation to Belarus. It was reported by Ukrainian leader on April 29 during his meeting with Belarusian President, Alexander Lukashenko.
«We’re glad to involve as a partner in the work on your project with Venezuela. What you have achieved with Venezuela is very good, it’s a good project. And we are ready to assist you in transporting, processing and sale of Venezuelan oil at contract prices approximated to the market: to make it profitable for and to have motivation and interest from our part», Ukrainian leader said, BelTA informs.
Viktor Yanukovych also confirmed Ukraine’s interest in deepening cooperation with Belarus in the processing of raw materials.
In 2010, Belarus and Ukraine should reach the turnover of at least four billion dollars, Yanukovych
«We want this year’s turnover to be not less than four billion dollars, and the next year’s — not less than five billion. It is realistic and achievable», Viktor Yanukovych believes.
According to the president of Ukraine, today, he and his Belarusian counterpart revised the issues accumulated in recent years in relations between the two countries. «We’ll consider this day as starting point and open a new page in relations between Belarus and Ukraine. Unfortunately, over the past five years, Ukraine has lowered its potential, not only because of the global financial crisis, but of many subjective reasons», Victor Yanukovych said.
Ukrainian president stressed that in contrast to Belarus, Ukraine lost appreciably in the volume of its production and the gross domestic product last year. «So our plan is to overcome the crisis’ consequences in 2010», Viktor Yanukovych said.
Ukraine is interested Belarus to be in good a shape, Yanukovych
«We are interested in that our strategic partner, Belarus, to be in good shape in order that Belarusian potential to pull a Ukrainian potential», Viktor Yanukovych underlined.
«All areas of cooperation between the two countries will be fully defined in the plan — the «road map» to be prepared by the governments of Belarus and Ukraine in mid June», Ukrainian leader said.
President of Ukraine noted the country’s interest in increasing procurement of agricultural machinery produced in Belarus. «We intend to use your competitive advantage in this sector», he said.
