"Evroopt" discounter store in Minsk lowers prices for all commodity groups including promotional 5% as compared to other stores, as well as abandons trade allowances for socially important goods. This was reported by the director of "Evrotorg" Andrei Zubkov. "All kinds of milk, yogurt and sour cream in all "Evroopt" stores will be offered to buyers at the new prices — no mark-ups," he said.

«This news should be a pleasant surprise for many Belarusians, said Andrei Zubkov,» BelTA quoted Andrei Zubkov.

«We’re used to the fact that prices in the country’s shops have been growing uncontrollably in recent years. But trade can oppose these trends, and we want to demonstrate to people by our example what actually the concept of corporate social responsibility is,» stressed the head of the Belarusian network of «Evroopt» shops.

According to the plans of network management, each new week «Evroopt» stores will offer certain group of foods without mark-ups. «Evroopt» decided to start with milk, yogurt and sour cream not by chance — the importance of these commodities in the food basket of Belarusians is enormous. It is hard to overestimate the importance of such a significant decline in prices for dairy products for the least affluent population of the country,» said Andrei Zubkov.

In addition, according to Andrei Zubkov, residents of Minsk, holders of a discount card network, will be able to buy products here with an even more substantial discount, thus saving money. «We pursue a balanced social policy, aimed at providing the citizens of Belarus with quality goods at affordable prices,» said the head of the Belarusian network of «Evroopt» shops.
