Chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party of the Republic of Belarus, Sergei Gaidukevich, creates "New Belarus — Unity" bloc. The leader of the LDP RB informed that so far he has no right to name concrete members of new bloc. But the number of those who desire to join it, is even more than he expected, former candidate for presidency noted.
«Today, I have sent a letter to the head of the presidential administration, Vladimir Makei. We ask for permission to rent the Palace of the Republic to hold there a Congress with participation of 2.5 thousand delegates. We’ll agree with any weekend, from May 20 to the end of July. We invite guests from United Russia, Fair Russia and the LDPR as well as the Party of Regions to the forum», Belarusian service of Radio Liberty quotes the words of Sergei Gaidukevich.
«If we can’t rant the Palace of the Republic, we agree to reduce the number of delegates to the thousand and to hold the event in «Minsk» cinema-concert hall. I believe that our appeal will be another test for the authorities to liberalize the situation in Belarus», the leader of the LDP RB said.
There will be two questions — besides the creation of new public organization — considered by delegates at the Congress: program’s adoption of LDP RB potential candidate for presidency, Sergei Gaidukevich, and approval of the composition of Sergei Gaidukevich initiative group.
