Journalists Launched a "War" Between NATO and Belarus are Resigned From Their Positions

When shown the TV story about NATO's "attack" to Belarus from the territory of Ukraine on the Russian regional TV, three journalists resigned from Lipetsk Time TV broadcaster. The resignation from the post was filed by the director of the broadcaster, Elena Dergunova, editor, Irina Yakovleva, and author of the story, special correspondent, Natalia Melnikova.

According to Kommersant’s source in regional authorities, the journalists decided to resign after their meeting with the governor of Lipetsk region, Oleg Korolyov, but people involved in scandal and the current leadership of TV broadcaster do not comment this link.

«They wrote a letter of resignation on their own. I can say nothing on the causes and circumstances of such decision, ask to the founders», acting director of Lipetsk time, Tatiana Goleva, stated.

The representatives of company’s founder — regional administration — neither clarified the situation, NEWSru.com reports. In her turn, Elena Dergunova after her dismissal asked not to inform her contact details to mass media, and Elena Yakovleva said that «will not play these games», and switched off the phone.

Meanwhile, Russian Union of Journalists stated about the start of checking the scandalous story. According to the secretary of the organization, Mikhail Fedotov, «if a link between dismissals on the channel and the TV story about the exercises confirms», the RUJ will surely adopt measures.

«If journalists really retold the legend of MIA exercises, then it indicates the tremendous problems in intellectual development of our Ministry of Interior, and not that journalists should be punished», the representative of Russian Union of Journalists said.
