7.2% of people participated in early voting of the presidential elections in Belarus for two days. This was reported by the CEC secretary Nikolai Lozovik. Elderly people and students were especially active to vote. The former are motivated by the sense of responsibility, the desire to fulfill their civic duty, the latter — by the desire to spend the weekend as they want, instead of obligatory participation in the elections, he said.

The leader in the number of early voters is Vitsebsk voblast (11.4%), followed by Mahileou (8.2%), Hrodna (8.1%), Minsk (6.3%) and Homel voblast (6.1%). The least of all votes were registered in Brest voblast (5.9%) and Minsk (5.8%). 9% of people participated in early voting outside Belarus, BelTA informs.

«If to characterize the situation of the second day of early voting, it is absolutely calm then, with no violations of electoral law,» Nikolai Lozovik said.
